In 2001 I was made redundant from my permanent job.

I had been working shifts as a Computer Operator in the City of London for many years.
As I received some redundancy money I decided to look into ways of working from home.

I searched Google with work from home business type keywords and found the usual MLM, Pyramid Schemes, Affiliate websites, Reseller Programs and the earn £1,000 a day type websites none of which were real home based businesses and worth pursuing.

While working as a computer operator I had dabbled in designing websites and getting them listed on Google. Without even trying I was surprised at how easy it was to achieve some good positions in the Google results. So I decided to look into this SEO stuff further.

I discovered that SEO is not difficult, this is why you quite often hear someone say that they carried out their own SEO and achieved a first page Google result..

They did not realise at the time that the few simple changes they made was all that was needed to gain a top position on Google. They actually achieved the position by accident.

So, I researched SEO and for the last 9 years I have been earning my living achieving top positions on Google for clients websites, you could too.
